Beginning Yang-Style Tai Chi meets every Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Sonoma Community Center, offering a gentle, beginner-friendly wellness class. |
Experience the gentle, flowing movements of Yang-style Tai Chi every Thursday evening at the Sonoma Community Center.
This meditative practice is designed to enhance balance, reduce stress, and restore energy.
Open to all levels, including beginners, the class offers a welcoming environment for those seeking to cultivate harmony of mind, body, and spirit.
Led by Rie Casale, an instructor with over eight years of experience in Tai Chi, the sessions draw from the teachings of Master Choy and are influenced by the Integral Way Tai Chi under Kenn Chase.
Rie is dedicated to sharing the art of Tai Chi, promoting mindfulness and well-being among students of all levels.
Classes are held every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM in Room 213, the Dance Studio at the Sonoma Community Center, located at 276 East Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476.
Each session is priced at $5, payable at the door, with additional donations appreciated to support the program.
Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.
No special equipment is required.
For those interested in exploring other wellness activities, the Sonoma Community Center offers a variety of classes, including Bilingual Yoga with Maythe Ortiz on Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, and Essentrics sessions on Wednesdays from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
These programs aim to promote physical health and mental well-being within the community.
The Sonoma Community Center is a hub for arts, education, and community engagement, housed in the historic Sonoma Grammar School building, a National Historic Landmark built in 1916.
The center offers a wide range of classes in ceramics, fiber arts, drawing and painting, printmaking, culinary arts, and more for children, teens, and adults.
Additionally, the center serves as the Emergency Volunteer Center component for the City of Sonoma's Emergency Plan.
Membership at the Sonoma Community Center comes with benefits, including a 10% discount on registration costs for any class purchase over $40 for Silver Memberships and above.
Materials fees are not discounted.
